Today we recognize #Juneteenth — a pivotal moment in 1865 when enslaved individuals in Texas and Louisiana finally learned they were free, months after the Civil War ended. This day represents the resilience, growth and enduring impact of African Americans in the fight for and achievement of emancipation.
