It was an incredible few days connecting with the pharmacy community on the Gold Coast at APP 2026. Last week delivered one of the most powerful moments of the conference with Sigma Healthcare’s sponsored session, presented in partnership with Amcal’s charity partner, RizeUp Australia. Attendees heard from Renee Watson , Sigma Healthcare’s Head of Retail, and Nicolle Edwards, Founder and CEO of RizeUp. Together they delivered a heartfelt and impactful discussion highlighting the importance of raising awareness around family and domestic violence, and the vital role community pharmacy can play in supporting vulnerable members of the community. The session offered an important reminder of the realities behind the statistics, and the meaningful difference that community support can make in helping individuals and families on their journey to safety, stability and rebuilding their lives. Following the session, we were fortunate to have Nicolle join us on the Sigma Healthcare stand, where she spent time meeting delegates and continuing important conversations with members of the pharmacy community. If you were unable to attend the session live, we strongly encourage you to tune in to the recording once it becomes available post APP.
