Our paramedics and Ambulance Community Officers (ACO) joined Port Phillip SES volunteers for a joint-agency training night recently, focused on strengthening coordination at multi-agency incidents. Crews were tasked with transferring a mock patient from a boat to an SES mule (off-road basket stretcher), before moving them onto an ambulance stretcher. The exercise provided crews with the opportunity to continue building capability in key areas including CPR, core first aid and patient care. We also ran through our ambulance response vehicles with the SES team, including a Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) single response unit, the equipment they contain and how to safely assist with manual handling during patient extrication. Training like this strengthens how agencies work together in dynamic environments and ensures crews are ready to safely and effectively respond when it matters most. 🚑🚒 Victoria State Emergency Service
