“When you study abroad, the most valuable thing you bring back may not be the degree at all.” I couldn’t have said it better. During my 5-month exchange at Universidad Austral, Buenos Aires, I discovered that studying abroad is not only about education, it’s about expansion. I saw the opportunity to meet new people, understand a new culture, interact with a new market, and witness endless opportunities. Not only from a business perspective, but also on a personal one. I didn’t just learn in classrooms. I learned in cafés, during late-night conversations, and while getting lost in the streets of Buenos Aires. Every person I met opened a window into a different way of thinking. This experience gave me more than academic knowledge, it taught me maturity, adaptability, and openness to the world. I’ve come to value education as much as I value openness. The ability to read one’s environment, to connect across cultures, and to see opportunity where others might not. Because sometimes, the real return on education isn’t just knowledge, it’s the people, the perspectives, and the pieces of the world that stay with you long after you leave.
