🍃✊🏽 El pueblo Secoya exige la titulación integral de su territorio En una audiencia histórica ante el Tribunal Constitucional del #Perú, @TC_Peru, el pueblo #Secoya hizo escuchar su voz en defensa de su territorio ancestral en #Iquitos. Las lideresas y líderes Secoya exigieron el reconocimiento y la titulación integral de más de 260.000 hectáreas y denunciaron que el sistema actual no garantiza plenamente los derechos territoriales de los pueblos indígenas. ⚖️ Durante la audiencia rechazaron la figura de la "cesión en uso", denunciando que limita el reconocimiento de hasta el 80 % de su territorio ancestral y señalando que vulnera su seguridad física, cultural y jurídica. Para ellos, el territorio es la base de su identidad, su supervivencia y su futuro frente a las amenazas y las economías ilegales. Secoya leaders called for the recognition and titling of more than 642,475 acres of their ancestral lands, denouncing that the current system fails to fully guarantee Indigenous Peoples' territorial rights. ⚖️ During the hearing, they rejected the legal mechanism known as cesión en uso ("right of use"), arguing that it limits recognition of up to 80% of their ancestral territory and undermines their physical, cultural, and legal security. They also reminded the Court that land is more than a territory; it is the foundation of their identity, their survival, and their future in the face of growing threats and illegal economies.
