محمود درويش في رثاء سمير قصير : « سمير قصير، الراقص الرشيق في حقول الالغام، الساخر من كل انسجام مع عبودية مفروضة او مختارة، هو احد اسماء التفوق على صَدَفة الهوية وعلى التخصص في مدوّنة واحدة. لذلك صدّق ان في وسع الفلسطيني ان يكون لبنانياً، وأن في وسع اللبناني ان يكون فلسطينياً عربياً، وأن من واجب العربي ان يكون مشاركاً بالتفكير على الأقل في التداعيات التي تتركها انقلابات العالم المعاصر على ما يعد له من مصائر. وصدّق ان ثقافة الديموقراطية لا تنتهك بالضرورة مقدسات التراث القومي! إن الحرية، على ما فيها من جماليات، قد تتوحش ليلة العرس، وتتعطش الى دم عشاقها. فذلك هو حناؤها الباذخ قبل انصرافها الى شؤون التدبير المنزلي. وسمير قصير هو واحد من أجمل هؤلاء العشاق.» سميـِِر قصيــر - ذكرى اغتياله - ٢١ عامًا ( ٥ أيار /مايو ١٩٦٠ - ٢ حزيران / يونيو ٢٠٠٥ ) سمير قصير يبدو وراء محمود درويش في الصورة التاريخية في مقبرة الش@هداء في بيروت Mahmoud Darwish on Samir Kassir “Samir Kassir, the graceful dancer in the minefields, mocking every form of harmony with an imposed or chosen servitude, was one of those who transcended the accident of identity and the confinement of a single specialization.
