We are also reflecting on the people and principles that shape AM ALPHA every day. One of them is Rafael Macía Castillo, Head of Iberia at AM ALPHA. What stands out in Rafael’s perspective is a simple but important belief: real estate is never just about spreadsheets. It is about responsibility – towards tenants, investors, buildings and the cities they are part of. In his anniversary interview, Rafael speaks about why active asset management requires staying close to the asset, why sustainable returns go beyond short-term cycles and why continuity between investment and execution matters. Or, as he puts it: “Strategy has to be clear and stable whilst tactics can adjust.” His view reflects something that has shaped AM ALPHA since 2006: Returning Real Value is not created through shortcuts, but through long-term thinking, local expertise and a hands-on approach that stays connected to the reality of each asset. From retail parks in Portugal to office projects like Malhoa 12 in Lisbon, Rafael and his team are helping to reposition buildings for changing tenant expectations and future market demands – always with a strong focus on execution and long-term resilience. 20 years of AM ALPHA also means 20 years of people taking ownership, thinking entrepreneurially and staying committed to substance over noise.
