Twenty-four years is a long time to stay with the same company. Especially in an industry that never stands still. Yet that's exactly how long our manager Raymond has been part of 𝗔𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗺. To put that into perspective: 𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. Twenty-four years ago, he joined Alphatron Marine as the youngest colleague in the warehouse. At the time, he didn't have any experience in shipping. What he did have was curiosity. Every day, he opened boxes, handled products and learned how the industry worked from the ground up. After eight years, he moved to the Spare Parts Department as an Inside Sales Representative. Back then, there were only two people in the department. Today, he leads our 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 of 𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲. A lot has changed through the years, except one thing: The way we approach your requests. As Raymond explains: "𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘶𝘴. 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘭𝘺, 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘺 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘥. 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘣𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘺 𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮." That way of thinking is still visible in how we work every day: When one of us needs help, another colleague steps in. When your request becomes complicated, we solve it together. Not because a procedure tells us to. But because that's simply how our 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 works. Many of the situations we face today are situations Raymond has seen before. And whenever that experience helps solve a challenge, it doesn't stay with one person. It becomes something the whole team learns from. Maybe that's one of the reasons people stay. Maybe that's why, years after your first request, there's a good chance you'll still be speaking with the same familiar faces.
