Four months. Twenty-six sessions. Countless conversations, challenges, debates, failures, iterations—and finally, ideas that now have a heartbeat. Today, as a mentor evaluating the final Design Thinking projects at IIIT Delhi, I felt something deeply personal: quiet pride, hope, and gratitude all at once. The projects that I assesed were based on.. - Substance abuse. - Differently-abled inclusion. - Mental well-being. - Elderly care. - Rights of the marginalized. - Clean water for those at the edge. These were not just “topics” on slides. These were real human stories that students had immersed themselves into. What moved me the most in many cases was watching how the students themselves had transformed through the process—especially in the differently-abled ecosystem project. You could clearly see the shift in perception, language, sensitivity, and depth of understanding. The problem statement itself had evolved—because they had evolved. They went into communities. They listened without judgment. They observed, unlearned, relearned. And then they came back with human-centric insights and thoughtful prototypes. This is what true Design Thinking looks like—not just Post-its and frameworks, but empathy turning into action. Several teams demonstrated exceptional depth in: - Problem framing - Stakeholder understanding - Insight extraction And solution prototyping grounded in reality As a mentor, there are few joys greater than witnessing young minds move from “ideas for grades” to “ideas for impact.” Today was one of those days. I couldn’t be happier with what this cohort has produced—not just as output, but as future change-makers in the making. Grateful for the journey. Grateful for the learning. Grateful for the impact these students are already beginning to create. Thanks once again to Professor Pankaj Vajpayee for the opportunity #DesignThinking #SocialInnovation #PurposeDrivenEducation #HumanCentricDesign #HigherEducation #Mentorship #IIITDelhi #FutureLeaders
