Two targets. Two sides of the mountain. One calm. One chaotic. While citizens, scholars, and politicians will debate the reasons for war - and they should - one truth remains constant: when the stakes are highest, America's sons and daughters will lay down their lives for their fellow countrymen. This Memorial Day, we remind ourselves of the unity, of the love, of the pure altruism - displayed so powerfully on the battlefield. We challenge ourselves to carry that spirit here at home - with those who may look different, think different, or vote different. We. Are. America. We lift the families and friends of America's fallen up in prayer. And we send our deepest gratitude and love to those above.
