The regulator has confirmed that fairer access to scarce railway capacity is essential if new operators are to compete on equal terms with the incumbent. This is not just about one company. It is about ensuring that Europe's railways remain open, competitive and innovative. Italy has already shown what happens when genuine on-track competition is allowed: š More passengers š¶ Lower fares š More services š Billions in private investment in new rolling stock Germany's passengers deserve the same opportunities. šš¼šŗš½š²šš¶šš¶š¼š» š¶š š»š¼š š® ššµšæš²š®š šš¼ šæš®š¶š¹. šš¼šŗš½š²šš¶šš¶š¼š» š¶š šµš¼š šæš®š¶š¹ š“šæš¼šš. #RailCompetition #OpenAccess #PassengerRail Patrick Schnieder German Federal Ministry of Transport
