Non-boring engineering prof & entrepreneur. I help young engineers flourish. Poet focused on a fresh moral imagination. International students: don’t like my political posts. *AI can be good but I don’t use GenAI LLMs.*
GenAI is being pushed as a religion. Are you an acolyte? Are you unknowingly being pulled into a religious belief that may not be in your best interest? —-Yesterday I had a conversation about GenAI as a religion with an amazing culture changer, Chris Rice, formerly at the UN. For many years he worked with the Mennonite Central Committee in North Korea, China, South Korean, and Japan. And before that, a time of service in Jackson MS. He is about slow change of hearts leading to sacrificial community and great joy that comes from living in community (with time for personal space and reflection.) He asked good questions about what is a religion and why would tech be a religion? I am sending him John’s article. I urge you to read it to understand why AI is being pushed as a religion.
