FY1 Resident Doctor at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust with an interest in Sport & Exercise Medicine (SEM)

I’m pleased to share that two papers I contributed to within the field of Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) have recently been published. The first paper, “Bridging the gap: the role of student conferences in advancing sport and exercise medicine in the medical school curricula”, explores how student-led initiatives can help increase exposure to and engagement with SEM, a specialty that remains underrepresented in medical school curricula. The data was collected from the National Undergraduate Sports and Exercise Medicine Society Conference 2024, which I co-led with Yunus Ali on behalf of UCL Sport and Exercise Medicine Society. https://lnkd.in/eGzzUUV8 Yunus Ali Demi Ojo Iris Zieler Eeshaan Ghanekar Courtney Kipps The second paper, “A joint effort: Understand metabolic health to provide musculoskeletal care”, highlights the importance of integrating metabolic health into musculoskeletal practice and reinforces the value of a more holistic approach within primary care. https://lnkd.in/eu7pkmp2 Yunus Ali Sean Carmody It has been a rewarding opportunity to contribute to projects that focus not only on improving patient care, but also on advancing medical education within SEM. Grateful to everyone involved in both papers, and looking forward to continuing to learn and contribute within this field. #SportAndExerciseMedicine #MedicalEducation #Research #Healthcare
