The Italian city of Assisi has once again become a place where dialogue about peace comes to life. 📣On June 27, 2026, the National Assembly of the international association Assisi Pax International was held there, marking the 30th anniversary of its founding by Padre Gianmaria Polidoro. The Assembly served as a forum for dialogue on peace, cooperation, and mutual respect, in the context of preparations for the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, further reinforcing the city's symbolic role as a center of peace. ➡️ Organized by Assisi Pax International, the event brought together members of the association, along with invited guests and speakers from religious and civic communities, united by the values of dialogue, peace, and international cooperation. 📶 As part of the program, Nabil Bougarech (ALLATRA Global Research Center) delivered a presentation highlighting the importance of international cooperation and the interconnectedness of humanity and nature, as reflected in the Franciscan tradition and Pope Francis's Laudato Si'. Environmental challenges, including microplastics and nanoplastics, were also discussed. In addition, members of ALLATRA Italy conducted interviews with Padre Gianmaria Polidoro and the President of Assisi Pax International, Dr. Gerardo Navazio. The discussions focused on the Association's mission, the spirit of Assisi, and the concept of a "civilization of peace." A particularly meaningful moment for ALLATRA was the presentation by the President of Assisi Pax International, Dr. Gerardo Navazio, of two commemorative awards: a commemorative lithograph by Silvio Ciuccetti, created to mark the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi (1226–2026), and the 30th-anniversary medal of Assisi Pax International, In the Service of Peace. 🙏🏻We sincerely thank Assisi Pax International for organizing and hosting the Assembly, and for providing a space for open dialogue and cooperation.
