🌐 At ChangeNOW 2026 in 🇫🇷Paris, ALLATRA held an expert workshop on the global risks of nanoplastics 📣From March 30 to April 1, participants of the ALLATRA and representatives of ALLATRA Global Research Center (GRC) took part in one of the largest international sustainable development summits — ChangeNOW 2026 at Grand Palais in Paris. 📶 The highlight of their participation was the expert workshop: "Nanoplastics: The Invisible Threat and Global Risk — What Can We Do?". The workshop was led by Gabriela Szalayova, MD (ALLATRA) and Alexander Masny, MSc (ALLATRA GRC), and was attended by approximately 80 people. ➡️ Scientific data confirms the presence of micro- and nanoplastics in air, water, soil, and food chains — and directly in human tissues and biological fluids. The workshop addressed their physicochemical and electrostatic properties, including their potential to carry toxins, pathogens, and heavy metals, and to interact with biological barriers in the human body. 🔄 Traditional approaches such as recycling and large-scale water purification are important, but do not cover the full spectrum of risks associated with nanoparticles. One promising area for further research presented at the workshop was neutralisation of electrostatic charge, which requires further scientific validation and expert dialogue. 💬 The workshop closed with an interactive Q&A session. According to attendees’ feedback, the topic was perceived as timely and significant, and the presentation itself as informative and accessible to a broad audience, with a clear explanation of the underlying scientific principles. The ALLATRA expresses its gratitude to the organizers of ChangeNOW 2026 for providing the platform for dialogue, as well as to all workshop participants for their interest in the topic and active engagement in the discussion. ▪️Link to the full press release is available in comments ▪️Featured on: The National Law Review, MENAFN, Associated Press News, FOX 44, NBC 4, FOX 21, NBC 8, CBS 8, ABC 34, among others.
