As conflict continues within Hefajat-e-Islam, the Qawmi madrasa based Islamist organisation has chosen Junayed Babunagari as its Ameer at a council held today. Moulana Mahfuzul Haque, general secretary of Befakul Madarisil Arabia Bangladesh (a platform of Qawmi madrasas), announced the name of Junayed Babunagari at the end of the council that began at 10:35am and continued till 3:30pm. The council, which was attended by 400 councilors from across the country, also selected Nur Hossain Qasemi, principal of Jamia Madania Baridhara Madrasa of Dhaka, as its Nayeb-e-Ameer.
