Delighted to share a recent publication with Mr Kristian Aquilina (Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust) on Long-term paediatric craniopharyngioma outcomes. Take home points are that the wide-ranging and long-term impact of hypothalamic injury on metabolic, cognitive and QoL sequelae relates not only to the tumour but also to the treatment interventions. Highest OS was seen in GTR-only or RT-only, however, 10% of patients who had RT developed some form of RT-related complication. GTR surgery should form the mainstay of treatment if achieved without hypothalamic injury. https://lnkd.in/eghtDMPf (https://rdcu.be/fsFk1 - read for free!)
