3rd year Medical Student at UCL | Surgical Sciences iBSc

A highlight of my summer was the time spent at Brainlab in Munchen. I had a really inspiring, thought-provoking day thank you to Eberhard Boegner, Timur Ayupov, William Fiuza and Svenja Großmann. I was given an initial insight into the work that Brainlab does and how for example the fields of neuronavigation and surgical planning are evolving and the massive potential it has for doctors and patients. They presented their work and new projects in a really engaging, hands-on way for me I learned a lot about how technology, data, and collaboration come together to improve patient care. It really opened my eyes to how exciting this field and its integration into surgeries is, and how much more is to come and evolve in the future. The work environment and ethic really stuck with me, it highlighted how important the uplifting, collaborative atmosphere is. As a medical student I left feeling inspired, motivated and excited to apply things I saw and learnt in the future as well as further build on the relationships I started making.
