Align leaders (Dr. Mitra Derakhshan, DDS, MS, EVP, Chief Clinical Officer, Global Treatment Planning and Clinical Services; Julie Paulsen, VP HR, Employee Programs, and Community Engagement; Paul Katawicz, VP Associate General Counsel) volunteered with Operation Smile in Guatemala, supporting life-changing cleft care and strengthening local expertise.   From screening through surgery, they worked alongside clinical teams and supported patients and families by providing information, entertaining young patients, and handing out special blankets made by Align Faculty doctors during our North America Faculty meeting.   Over three days, 49 patients received cleft lip and palate surgeries. The team also had the opportunity to visit Operation Smile’s Guatemala City Care Center, which provides year-round cleft and oral health care, and visited Universidad Francisco Marroquín (UFM), an education partner to Operation Smile, whose Faculty of Dentistry provides hands-on clinical training to strengthen long-term local capability in cleft-related dental care.   #AlignTech #iTero #Invisalign #exocad
