🚨📅📈 2022 Semiconductor Industry Outlook The semiconductor industry is expected to reach $600 billion in 2022 as governments and industry leaders invest billions to support the industries growth. Intel recently announced an $80 billion investment of their own across Europe to build a fab 'mega-site' in Germany, an R&D and design hub in France and further investments across Ireland, Italy, Poland and Spain. Based on Deloitte's analysis, the shortage has already resulted in lost revenue to the tune of $500 billion between semiconductor manufacturers and their customer industries, highlighting the need to close the gap between supply and demand sooner rather than later. As the reliance on chips across multiple industries intensifies, ensuring that the ongoing talent shortage is also addressed will be critical to preventing another shortage in the future.
