The guardians of the territory cannot be replaced. They have spent decades walking their communities, knowing every river, every agreement, every story. Transmitting what cannot be written, only lived. Brooklyn Rivera was one of those guardians. He always returned when his Muskitia needed him. He spoke when speaking was needed. He defended when defending was needed. What was done to him is not an isolated case. Throughout Mesoamerica, defending the territory is becoming a crime. And every time a guardian falls, a part of the community goes dark with them. That void cannot be filled by anyone. We demand that Brooklyn Rivera be allowed to rest in his land. #ElTerritorioLoReclama #BrooklynRivera #IndigenousPeoples #Mesoamerica #Nicaragua Red MOCAF ACOFOP Modelo Forestal Comunitario If Not Us Then Who?
