Leitmotif invests in RobCo’s $100M Series C Quick rewind to 2020: Under strict COVID regulations, I first met Roman, Paul, and Constantin in a lab at Technical University of Munich in Garching. Back then, they were working on modular robots under the name "Modrob." Shortly after, I joined the team for a summer project to build a concept for a modular robot UI. I’m not ashamed to admit that software never hit production. But I left that project thinking: Roman and his team were special with their execution speed, technical depth, and ruthless focus. And they aimed all that energy at a problem that was only going to get bigger.   That vision hasn’t changed over the years: to build a fully vertically integrated robot company to meet customers on the factory floor with an affordable, flexible, and easy-to-use robot automation solution. And to deliver on that promise quickly to solve customers' problems today, not tomorrow. Six years later, it is incredible to see what this team has built. We also couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of this outstanding group of investors to back you in this next phase of growth with Lightspeed and Lingotto, who led the round, and Sequoia Capital, Greenfield Partners, Kindred Capital VC and The Friedkin Group. Roman, Paul, and Constantin, it’s been six-years since that lab. I’m incredibly happy we finally get to partner and work together again. 🤖 Read more about our rationale to invest below. #robotics #robco #automation cc Jens Wiese Matt Trevithick Philipp Emig Ryan Bayliss
