Last Wednesday, on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day (April 1st), I had the opportunity to take part in the One Team conference, organized by PSG For Communities and The Naked Heart Foundation, in collaboration with the Think tank Sport et Citoyenneté - FR. It was an opportunity to present UNESCO’s Sport flagship #FitforLife and its work to promote access to inclusive, equitable and safe sport and physical education for all. The conference was part of a broader day dedicated to the One Team programme, held at the Parc des Princes as part of the “Move for Autism” initiative. Bringing together nearly 1,000 children with and without autism spectrum disorder, the day was a powerful illustration of the joy and values that sport can convey. Speaking in such an iconic venue made the experience all the more meaningful and inspiring, while reinforcing my conviction that sport is an unparalleled vector for inclusion, social cohesion and peace.
