If you've been in Sheffield City Centre recently, you might have spotted the huge new water wildlife mural that started to appear 10 days ago. If not, here's a link explaining what, why, where and how. https://lnkd.in/eM68vQUe When I became President of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce I said I wanted to focus on investment in culture. That is why I am so pleased to have been able to co-fund this amazing new piece of art. Why have I done this? 5 reasons really. 1. Fast philanthropy 2. Culture pays 3. Start a conversation 4. Give something back 5. Warm, fuzzy feelings I’ve written a short blog to explain more. See👇 Many thanks to Marketing Sheffield for making this happen, especially Mark Mobbs, as well as Diana Buckley, Emma France and Kate Reveley. Likewise Sean McClean and I am sure many others. I am in awe of the imagination and talent of Megan Russell. (Peachzz) and her collaborator Enso - https://lnkd.in/eE2N9vvc. We're incredibly lucky to have such talented people working in the city. To my colleagues in Counter Context Ltd and Altitude. Being able to co-fund something like this is down to real collective effort that I do not take for granted. I hope they are proud of what they’ve helped fund - turning a dull wall into something really beautiful.
