Last week I had the opportunity to attend the CERN Accelerator School CAS on accelerator physics. Working as a survey engineer on the HiLumi Project, I usually deal with the positioning and alignment of accelerator components. The school was therefore a great chance to better understand the physics behind the machines we help build and maintain. Even without a deep physics background, I could take away a lot from the lectures and discussions throughout the week. I particularly enjoyed the insights into beam dynamics, the standard model, and cryogenic systems. A big thank you to the CAS organizers and especially to Frank Tecker for taking care of the agenda. It was a great week and a reminder of how many different disciplines come together to make projects like HiLumi LHC possible. #HLLHC #CERN #AcceleratorPhysics #ParticleAccelerators Frank Tecker Bernhard Holzer Paris Sphicas Torsten Koettig Thibaut Lefevre Rende Steerenberg Markus Zerlauth Jorg Wenninger Jacqueline Keintzel
