Software Engineer | Prev @ Meta

I started at Meta 2 months ago following my graduation from Georgia Tech. Yesterday, I got an email saying my role was impacted in the mass layoffs. I interned for Meta last summer, and received a return offer after a great experience with the team. In my 2 months and 17 days as a full time employee (8 weeks of which I was in a new hire bootcamp), I got a lot of stuff done, and I'm proud of my work. I worked on large-scale data ingestion and infrastructure systems. Here's what I did: • Built an event-driven file synchronization architecture to replace legacy polling workflows • Led a scaling initiative to support major growth in data intake • Implemented critical file transfer tracking infrastructure • Designed an automated alerting and operational tooling service for pipeline reliability • Identified and fixed long-standing concurrency issues in cloud storage sync systems • Built an AI-powered oncall support agent during a hackathon Despite my short time at Meta, I'm proud of what I accomplished and grateful for those who have mentored me even if it was only for a short while. Looking for bigger and better opportunities in software/infrastructure/backend roles. Shout out to Itoen tea and the desk I got to use for one glorious week! -Alexa
