Powering the next chapter of Oceanco’s rebuilt Draak! Alewijnse is proud to announce the completion of the successful delivery of its electrical scope for the Draak, Oceanco’s extensively rebuilt 92.9m / 305ft yacht. Originally delivered by Oceanco in 2014, Draak has been extensively rebuilt at Oceanco’s Life Cycle Support facilities in Zwijndrecht. The result is a highly capable companion yacht to Leviathan, purpose-designed to support scientific research, marine exploration, and extended operational missions. Draak demonstrates what can be achieved when an existing yacht is transformed for a completely new operational purpose. Through close cooperation with Oceanco and the other project partners, we have delivered advanced electrical solutions that support the yacht’s new role in research, exploration and long-range operations, says Diederick van Welij, Project Manager at Alewijnse.
