Industrial Development Manager presso Kedrion Biopharma

It was a true pleasure and honor for me to partecipate in the roundtable entitled "Scientific Research and Technological Innovation Serving Society", organised on the occasion of the 1st Emerging Trends in Biomecular Science. The event was held at the scientific campus of the "Università degli Studi della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli" as part of Phdays 2025, and was a highly significant moment for the region's scientific and business community. The lectio magistralis by Prof. Luigi Nicolais, alongside contributions from several esteemed professors who have always been committed to supporting R&D project in Campania, as well as the partecipation of important local businesses, provided all those present with a valuable opportunity for both personal and professional enrichment. The dialogue between academia and business highlighted the importance to investing in partnership between Universities and Companies, emphasising how the PhD title is nowadays highly values, not only in academia but also in various industrial sectors. Within this context, I had the opportunity to share how my academic experience led me into a corporate environment, where I have been able to apply the scientific knowlwdge, I acquired with the same passion and enthusiasm as ever. A concrete example of this synergy between university and business is Kedrion, which not only co-funds but also hosts, at its S. Antimo site, 2 PhD students (similar to its Bolognana site in Tuscany). During the two days of the meeting, these young scientists had the opportunity to excellently present the results achieved in their first year of experimental work at the company, togheter with many other young talents engaged in the same academic path. We are determined to continue our full commitment to contribuing to the training of new generations of scientists, offering them not only technical skills but, above all, instilling the fundamental values on which they can build their professional futures. I would like to extend a special thank you to Prof. Antonio Fiorentino for this wonderful initiative and for invitation to the roundtable, to Dr. Ester Ascione for her ongoing support of collaborations between Kedrion, University and CNR, to Dr. Alfonso Salvatore for his constant guidance and supervision of our PhD students, and finally to Dr. Fabrizio Taglieri, Dr. Michele Sotgiu, Dr. Andrea Caricasole for their continued and strong support, encouragement and sponsorship of the company's research and development activities. #Wearekedrion
