ALD‘s customer participated in the function testing as we demonstrated compliance with their specification. ALD‘s first #Isothermal Forging System was delivered in the late 1970s - still in production today for #high-pressure #turbine disks and #compressor disks for #aircraftengines. We have delivered several HIF systems for the forging of aircraft engine disks in vacuum as well as inert gas atmospheres. At process temperatures up to 1200°C Superalloy or Titanium disks are forged under highly controlled temperature and pressures. Large scale production systems handle part weights of up to 1 ton and part diameters of more than 1 m. In this critical market ALD serves the leading producers of isothermal forged engine disks. Our vacuum equipment comprises of the heating systems for the workpiece and dies, and the part manipulation systems. These systems are integrated with a hydraulic press for production of the engine disks that have to operate in highly-stressed aircraft engines environments. A pilot system at National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) in Scotland can be used for Isothermal Forging trials. Are you interested in our technology and trials?
