🍳 New LITE Lab HKU x Microsoft collaboration – Practical Recipes for AI Adoption in Legal Practice Most lawyers already work within the Microsoft ecosystem: Word, Outlook, Teams. But how many are using Microsoft Copilot to its full potential? The “Cookbook” titled “From Chatbots to Workflows and Agents: Developing a Beginner’s Mind to Adopt Responsible GenAI into Legal Practice (June 2026)”, developed by LITE Lab HKU (headed by Brian W Tang) in collaboration with Microsoft with support from Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation & Technology Association (ALITA) and The Law Society of Hong Kong, is an innovative initiative for the legal community: A collection of real-world, step-by-step recipes showing how Microsoft Copilot can support everyday legal work, from advice drafting to regulatory monitoring, timesheet auditing, and more. The Cookbook features seven legal professional user personas spanning private practice and in-house departments, showing how AI can improve productivity across the legal sector. Brian W Tang, Founding executive director of LITE Lab HKU and Co-chair of ALITA, who was recently named an inaugural FT Law 50 as an "AI Enabler" shares: "It is hoped that legal practitioners and allied professionals, with the support of their leaders, would be inspired by this Cookbook project to re-create and experiment to create their own impactful solutions as 'humans-working-in-the-loop' starting with the 'tools at hand' and progress from AI literacy to AI fluency to better serve and maintain the trust of our clients and society." Marlon Fetzner, Head of Legal Affairs for Microsoft Asia, notes "The most impactful AI solutions are often created by those who best understand their profession. By bringing together perspectives from law firms and corporate legal and compliance departments, we hope this ‘Cookbook’ will inspire legal and allied professionals to experiment, innovate, and develop their own GenAI solutions to transform the way legal work is delivered." Roden Tong, President of The Law Society of Hong Kong, further stated that "I believe the publication will provide legal professionals with practical guidance and inspiration as they explore the use of AI in legal practice, while continuing to uphold professional responsibilities and standards." 📖 Read the Cookbook here: https://lnkd.in/gmpXkZMc #LegalTech #MicrosoftCopilot #AIinLaw #ResponsibleAI #LITELabHKU #ALITA #LegalInnovation
