Modernising offshore Crane Management Systems to improve reliability, diagnostics, and long-term supportability. Alatas recently completed a full Crane Management System (CMS) upgrade on a Liebherr BOS offshore crane originally built in the 1980s. The project involved the removal of the crane’s original TTL-based control system — an increasingly obsolete platform with limited spare part availability and restricted diagnostic capability — and replacement with a modern, fully supported CMS solution. Delivered using a phased execution strategy to minimise operational disruption, the upgrade introduced enhanced operator functionality, load and system data recording, improved diagnostics, and remote login support for faster troubleshooting and reduced downtime.
