On this day Azie Taylor Morton (Feb 1, 1936-Dec 6, 2003), teacher, politician. Appointed by President Jimmy Carter, she is the only African American to hold the position of Treasurer of the U.S. Her signature was printed on US currency during her tenure. #brownhistory #brownhistory365
