Construction starts on two landmark CCS projects 👷‍♀️ Fabrication is now underway at our yard on the west coast of Norway for two landmark carbon capture and storage projects, Oslo CCS and Northern Lights phase 2. With the ceremonial push of the start button, industrial robots made the first automated steel cuts in the Brennehallen production hall, marking the transition into the next phase of the projects that are central to scaling CCS and reducing CO₂ emissions across Europe. On Northern Lights phase 2, which is enabled by a grant from the Connecting Europe Facility for Energy (CEF Energy) funding scheme, we are working with Equinor as technical service provider on behalf of the Northern Lights JV to deliver the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) scope for the onshore facilities, building on the experience and learnings gained from phase 1. For Hafslund Celsio’s Oslo CCS project we are, together with SLB Capturi, executing the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) for the full-scale carbon capture plant and CO₂ terminal. Over the coming months, prefabricated assemblies will be delivered in batches to the project sites in Øygarden and Klemetsrud, with work continuing into 2027. #CCS #OsloCCS #NorthernLights
