Former Head of Architecture, Data and Innovation at Eesti Energia
Hi all, Today is my last day in Eesti Energia and it's IT. What started in 2015 as an architect position for digitalization effort of energy production value chain turned into a long journey of transformation in energy sector. Open market changes, expansion (and retraction on some..) to new countries and services, change from project-based to product-based IT and lately to domain-based IT management approach, establishment of E-Lab as a technical innovation hub, updating BI/Data platforms, working with UT and TalTech and many more challenges have kept it fresh, interesting and very educational. Why the final change tho? Simply put, the Architecture, Data and Innovation unit I lead for last 3 years combined 3 different strategical functions, which have grown to point where it makes more sense to move them closer to the main counterparties and not being filtered through single point. I wish all the best to Kalle Kütt, Aleksandr Skubi, Andres Meensalu and Kaarel Oja in leading those teams further. I would also like to thank literally hundreds of people I had privilege to work together. Special mentions Agnes Roos for bringing me onboard on 2015, Hando Sutter and Margus Vals for your belief and support during early days of E-Lab. Ilmar Käär, Raido Ivalo, Andres Pilve, Andri Vanem, Tanel Veetõusme, Riin Salmu, Marika Piir, Allan Lepik for transforming the BIT into modern IT unit. Martin Laid, Kaarel Oja, Vitali D. and Aleksandr Skubi for developing E-Lab. And also my own team - Kalle Kütt, Merle Parmson, Andres Meensalu, Anna-Alore L., Sten Virak, Viive Simon and Sergei Lebedev for putting up with me :D Thanks guys, It was a blast!
