Fast forward a few months later, and Iโm incredibly proud to share that Iโve officially joined GAMUDA Silicon Island Development Sdn. Bhd. Itโs been 5 months now, and the journey has been nothing short of transformative. From day one, Iโve been thrown into the real, hands-on side of ecological offset execution (#PEOM) of Penang #SiliconIsland and I wouldnโt have it any other way. Iโve been part to assist the deployment of artificial reefs, helping release 10,000 seabass thus far near Pulau Kendi and 52,000 tiger prawn near Pulau Betong, and learning what it truly takes to restore balance in marine ecosystems to achieve #ESG goals, in line with Penangโs commitments under #Penang2030. This work has taught me that conservation isnโt always glamorous, sometimes you're under the aircond in the office and the next thing you know you're out in the ocean under the scorching sun. However, being able to learn from experts and fellow colleagues, adjusting plans based on tides and weather, and celebrating small wins, like seeing positive outcome on the ecological efforts are something I look forward to towards the end of the day. Iโm still learning every day. Still growing. Still grateful. To anyone out there trying to find their place in this field: keep showing up, stay curious, and donโt underestimate the power of putting yourself out there even if it starts with a TikTok. #Penang2030 #SiliconIsland #Biodiversity #PEOM #TikTok
