Have you ever thought about the significant resources airlines invest in developing their loyalty programmes, yet some of the strongest emotional reactions in air travel happen around baggage? No one posts on social media because their bag arrived exactly as expected. But people absolutely remember waiting in a bag-drop or check-in queue, worrying if they’ll make their flight, standing at a carousel, wondering where it is, or dragging luggage onto a train because they don't trust checking it. Those moments of anxiety carry a lot more weight than they’re given credit for. CustomerGauge, citing Forrester, estimates that each U.S. airline leaves up to $1.4 billion in annual revenue on the table by failing to improve customer experience. JD Power Customer Service Advisory's 2025 North America Airline Satisfaction Study also found that passengers who described their experience as "perfect" said they would definitely fly the same airline again 81% of the time. For passengers who described it as "poor," that figure dropped to just 4%. And those are a few of the reasons we're seeing more interest in #offairport #baggagehandling. Because the real value isn't moving bags from one place to another; it's removing moments of uncertainty from the journey. With some of our airline partners, up to 22% of Airportr users say the service's availability influences their decision to fly with that carrier over competitors. When a passenger can get to the airport and head straight to security without worrying about their luggage, or walk off a flight and go directly to ground transport while their luggage follows separately, the journey just feels easier and less stressful. And that's what passengers are also buying when they choose an airline... not just transportation, but confidence that their journey will be better.
