🤖🇪🇺 What does it take to turn Europe's AI ambition into practical value for SMEs? This was one of the key questions at the EDIH Summit 2026. Representing AI & Robotics Estonia AIRE, Katre Eljas and Evelin Ebruk participated in panel discussions that looked at AI adoption from two closely connected angles: the practical ecosystem needed to bring solutions to market, and the organisational transformation required to use them effectively. One of the panels explored the “implementation layer” of Europe’s AI ecosystem: how European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs), Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs), AI Factories, and regulatory sandboxes can work together more seamlessly ⚙️. The emphasis was on creating clear pathways where companies can test, validate, and de-risk AI solutions in realistic environments before scaling them into production. 🚀 The second panel focused on the internal transformation happening inside organisations as AI becomes increasingly embedded in workflows and decision-making. The discussion highlighted the shift towards more autonomous, agent-based systems and the need for organisations to rethink how processes, responsibilities, and governance are structured in this new context while keeping human judgement, critical thinking, and collaboration at the core. 🧠🤝 🌐 Across the summit, the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network was repeatedly recognised as a key execution layer for Europe’s AI agenda. With more than 200 hubs across 40+ countries, over 100,000 delivered services, and support provided to around 50,000 SMEs and 5,600 public sector organisations, the network is increasingly seen as the practical bridge between innovation and real-world adoption. At the same time, the persistent adoption gap remains a challenge, with AI uptake still significantly higher in large enterprises than in SMEs. For AIRE, these discussions closely align with our ongoing work, supporting companies through testing and validation, investment readiness, and helping them navigate emerging regulatory frameworks such as Estonia’s developing AI regulatory sandbox. 🧩 A sincere thank you to the organisers, speakers and fellow EDIHs for the insightful discussions and collaboration on strengthening Europe’s AI innovation ecosystem. 👏 #EDIHSummit2026 #AIRE #EDIH #AIAct #AgenticAI
