In many manufacturing companies, production planning still exists largely in people’s heads. 🏭 Experienced specialists know which machines to use, how to combine orders and which production path makes sense. But as orders become more complex and time pressure increases, relying only on human experience becomes increasingly difficult. Aktaprint AS decided to test whether AI could support this process. 🤝 Through an AIRE demo project, the company worked together with TalTech researchers to prototype and validate an AI-based solution designed to model and optimise production planning in a complex, order-based manufacturing environment. The goal was simple: help evaluate different production scenarios faster and support better decisions when planning jobs and calculating offers. 🎬 Watch Aktaprint’s experience: https://lnkd.in/dX4yK36w Tomorrow, a new AIRE demo project call opens, giving Estonian industrial SMEs and their value chain partners the opportunity to test AI or robotics solutions together with research partners. 🚀 If you are considering applying, we will also discuss the process and share more examples at AIRE Club this coming Tuesday, focusing entirely on demo projects – how to apply, why to apply and what has been achieved so far. More information on our webpage. For many companies, innovation does not start with a large transformation. It starts with one experiment.
