Air France-KLM welcomes the commitment of the French authorities to promoting a more sustainable and competitive aviation sector.   The Group supports the French Ecological Planning Council, convened by President of the French Republic in the presence of the Prime Minister and 10 ministers, for its clear and ambitious stance. Its conclusions align with a vision that Air France-KLM has actively championed for many years: the imperative to support the development of a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) industry and to establish a robust European mechanism to prevent traffic diversion and carbon leakage to non-European hubs. Measures to combat unfair competition already exist in other industrial sectors. They are crucial to ensuring the sector’s necessary transition while preserving the competitiveness of European players who, like Air France-KLM Group, are making major investments in decarbonization.
