Global air cargo markets are entering a more fragile and structurally complex phase after several weeks of disruption linked to the conflict in the Middle East, with carriers, forwarders and shippers now balancing recovering capacity against persistently elevated operating costs. Worldwide airfreight demand and capacity both strengthened through late April, supported by seasonal cargo flows, pre-holiday manufacturing activity in Asia, and resilient transpacific demand tied to AI infrastructure shipments and e-commerce volumes.
