Wiley generated $49 million in AI licensing deals for fiscal year 2026, citing agreements with IQVIA, OpenEvidence, and a growing roster of corporate customers, while net income skyrocketed 163% to $221.6 million on flat revenue of $1.67 billion, a day after McGraw Hill unveiled its own AI expansion plans. CEO Matthew Kissner said AI is "a rapidly expanding recurring revenue stream," set to be bolstered by Wiley's $452 million acquisition of Emerald Publishing earlier this month. Wiley's research division revenue rose 5% to $1.13 billion on AI licensing growth, while its learning group fell 7% due to macro headwinds and lower AI licensing revenue.
