🎓♥️ Have you ever felt both impossibly small & yet part of something immense? That’s exactly how I felt stepping onto Yale University’s campus for Global Network Week, dwarfed by the weight of history, but fully aware that this was a moment I’d never forget. “𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘦 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥” 𝘖𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘳 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘦 It was an honour to be selected for this immersive experience, joining 77 peers from 22 top global business schools for a deep dive into what makes us (& others) tick. Every moment, whether debating negotiation tactics with classmates from around the world or rendered speechless as a Carillon Concert echoed across campus, remains etched in my mind. Yale’s world-class faculty challenged us to rethink how we make decisions, lead teams & drive impact: 💡 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 1 & 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 2 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 Frederick Shane How our fast and slow thinking modes shape choices, and how small tweaks in “choice architecture” can nudge better outcomes (a reminder to revisit Kahneman’s Thinking Fast & Slow) 💹 𝐂𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 Kelly Shue How human biases like loss aversion & overconfidence shape our financial decisions. 🖼️ 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 Nathan Novemsky The power of framing & why the first perspective we see can shape everything that follows. 💪🏻 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 Deborah Small Brands & leaders must align actions and values to avoid the “tainted altruism” trap. 🌲 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 Daylian Cain Uncovering the real interests behind every position, 'finding the tree', can lead to true win-win results. Outside the classroom, we raced through escape rooms, wandered Yale’s art galleries, fell in love with the Sterling Library & shared laughs & plans for future ventures over New Haven pizza (controversial opinion: bacon & mashed potato is my topping of choice). I’m deeply grateful to the Yale School of Management faculty for their passion & insight Stacy Awe Emma Hough Paulo Garcia Flores & to my fellow participants for the camaraderie, diversity of thought & the thousands of unique experiences they brought to the classroom, enriching the experience immeasurably. Thanks to my teamies (for all our AI-adventures) Sumit Kumar Agarwala Elaine Donohue Wedad Sunny Megha Mistry Yasmine El Rafie Imran Khan & Mihai Mincu for never backing down. & of course to IE Business School for the once in a lifetime experience.
