On June 10, the #AIES, in collaboration with the Embassy of Vietnam in Vienna, hosted an expert workshop on Strategic Autonomy: European and Southeast Asian Perspectives – Comparing Concepts, Practices, and Potential for Cooperation 🇪🇺🇻🇳. 📌The discussion explored how the concept of strategic autonomy is understood and operationalised across both regions, and where opportunities for mutual learning and cooperation lie. Participants examined the shifting global power landscape, the converging crises reshaping international order, and the distinct but complementary approaches of the EU and ASEAN to navigating great-power competition.
