1st Year Medicine and Surgery MBBS Student | University of Lancashire | Passionate about research and leadership opportunities
I was honoured to volunteer at the Women’s Anatomy, Health & Wellness Fair held on March 7th, 2026 at the University of Lancashire in celebration of International Women’s Day. During the event, I contributed to both the Female Anatomy and Physiology of the Menstrual Cycle stalls, where I engaged with members of the public to deliver clear, accessible explanations of key concepts in women’s health. This experience strengthened my ability to communicate complex medical information in a way that is both understandable and meaningful to diverse audiences. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of students, healthcare professionals, and local organisations, I was proud to support an initiative that brought together 18 stalls, multiple workshops, and community-driven health education, as well as the distribution of over 100 emergency period packs. This experience reinforced my commitment to pursuing a career in medicine—not only in clinical practice, but also in health education, prevention, and community engagement. Empowering individuals with knowledge about their own health is a fundamental step towards improving outcomes and reducing stigma, particularly in women’s health.Being able to support the community, raise awareness, and contribute to conversations around women’s health was incredibly rewarding. Grateful to have contributed to such an impactful and collaborative event. #WomensHealth #Medicine #FutureDoctor #MedicalStudent #CommunityHealth #HealthEducation #WomenInMedicine #Leadership
