AIB was proud to mark our fourth year partnering with Dublin Tech Summit – Ireland’s largest indigenous technology conference. In collaboration with Mason Hayes & Curran LLP, we hosted our SME Breakfast, centred on the theme “Beyond 2026: The AI World We Are Actually Building.” The session brought together over 150 customers and stakeholders to explore key trends shaping a rapidly evolving sector and was hosted by John Reynolds Head of Business Banking Dublin, East and Sector and Denis Ryan, Business Banking Sector Team Technology Specialist. Key takeaways: ✅ Strong ecosystem engagement is translating into tangible collaboration and opportunity across SMEs, corporates, investors, and advisors—reinforcing Ireland’s position as a highly connected, execution-focused tech market. ✅AI investment is now central to future growth, with Goodbody Chief Economist Dermot O'Leary highlighting that hyperscaler spend is expected to exceed €700bn. ✅ Regulation and talent will be critical in shaping AI outcomes, with the complexity of the EU AI Act and growing competition for expertise highlighted by Mason Hayes & Curran’s Angela Freeman, Brian McElligott, and Helen Dixon; and AIB’s Jane Tolan. At AIB, these themes continue to inform our sector strategy, shaping how we support clients navigating growth, investment, and risk in an increasingly AI-driven economy.
