This week we ran the first Neurodiversity Society event at the University of Buckingham — an OSCE Practice session for our peers ahead of their exams. Going into it, we thought we would mainly be teaching. In reality, we ended up learning even more. We learned how differently students approach skills, how important it is to adapt teaching to support neurodiverse learners — especially with fine motor movements — and how much can be gained from creating a safe space to practise. One of the biggest lessons was time management. With so many students rotating through multiple stations, keeping things on track was tough. But it also showed us the value of clear planning, flexibility, and teamwork in making sure everyone had a chance to learn. I’m especially grateful to my brilliant team — Yazan Alistewani , Malik Alhrash, and Abdelrahman Abdellatif— for working so hard to make this possible. Special thanks as well to our amazing actors — Ryan Mohamadi and Saeid Yawazi — and our cameraman Farris Mirza, who captured the event beautifully. 🙌 This event was just the start. Our ambition is to continue raising awareness of neurodiversity within the University of Buckingham and beyond, creating opportunities where all students feel supported to succeed. #Neurodiversity #MedicalEducation #OSCE #Inclusion #UniversityOfBuckingham
