✨ Two Weeks at Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation Aswan Heart Centre ✨ Spending two weeks as an observer at MYHF (Aswan Heart Foundation) was a truly inspiring experience. This institution stands as a remarkable example of world-class cardiac care delivered free of charge, driven by compassion, teamwork, and purpose. As someone who has just finished the first year of medical school, I rotated through adult and pediatric clinics, ICUs, and the catheterization laboratory, gaining exposure to the full spectrum of cardiovascular care. Observership highlights: • Observing the catheterization lab, where pediatric and adult cardiac cases are performed side by side, including ablations and PCI. • Exposure to the adult ICU and seeing the Stockert S5 heart–lung machine for the first time. • Learning about LVADs and their role in advanced heart failure management. • Observing detailed echocardiography in both adult and pediatric clinics. • Gaining insight into the Aswan technique in pediatric cardiac surgery. • Presenting the Ross procedure, which further strengthened my interest in cardiology. This experience has deepened my passion for cardiology and reinforced my motivation to pursue medicine. Grateful to Dr. Elia Mossad, Mr. Bavly Sameh, and the entire Aswan Heart Centre team for their guidance, kindness, and hospitality. #MagdiYacoubFoundation #AswanHeartCentre #Cardiology #MedicalStudent #Observership #Grateful #Inspired #universityofbuckingham
