🐝 Building the Future of Israeli Beekeeping, One Generation at a Time One of the most inspiring conversations I've had while filming for the Israel Beekeepers project was with Boaz Kanot and his daughter Hagit from Kanot Family Bees & Honey. What impressed me most was not only their professionalism or the scale of their operation, but the way they are building continuity. Boaz has spent decades developing a successful commercial beekeeping operation, producing honey, providing pollination services for Israeli agriculture, breeding queens, and constantly planning seasons years in advance. But today, one of his greatest investments is sharing that knowledge with the next generation. Hagit represents the future of the family business. Alongside the traditional skills that can only be learned in the field, she is introducing new ideas, direct online sales, product diversification, and modern business thinking. It is a great example of how innovation and tradition can strengthen each other rather than compete. During our conversation, Boaz said something that perfectly captures the essence of beekeeping: "I'm not the manager. The bees set our schedule." That sentence reflects a broader truth about agriculture. Success comes from understanding nature, respecting its rhythms, and making thoughtful decisions long before the results become visible.
