Wow... two years already! š¢ Mercure Paignton & Ibis Styles Paignton Time really does fly when you're managing the sales strategy for two seafront hotels with two very different personalities. š The highs š„ ⢠Building commercial momentum across both hotels and helping establish them as key players on the English Riviera. ⢠Taking our story on the road through countless trade shows, sales missions and networking events, showcasing everything Paignton and South Devon have to offer. ⢠Creating some fantastic partnerships with local businesses and organisations that help make our destination so special. ⢠Hosting FAM trips, client events and site visits, giving people the chance to experience our hotels, destination and team first-hand. ⢠Launching creative campaigns, including our travelling bed, which made appearances in places it was never designed to be! š The reality š ⢠Switching between brands daily ā talking elegant, upscale Mercure in one meeting and then embracing the fun, vibrant ibis Styles personality in the next. ⢠Chasing targets, building relationships and driving revenue definitely keeps you on your toes. ⢠Plenty of travel, early starts (still my least favourite part of the day! š„±), late finishes, and the occasional "where am I this week?" moment between trade shows, client meetings and brand events. ⢠Navigating the seasonality of the coast. One minute it's peak summer with every room full, the next you're planning how to drive demand through the quieter winter months. The challenge never stops. šŖ Like any hotel, no two days have been the same, but that's exactly what makes this industry so rewarding. A huge thank you to our incredible teams in both hotels, colleagues across RBH and Accor, clients, partners, and everyone who has supported me over the last two years. I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved so far and excited to see what year three brings.
