Tsenta (YC S26) | CS @ Rose-Hulman
"It looks like a virus..." ...is what one of our first users told us, and they meant it in a genuinely concerned way. I couldn't even argue with them. the first version of tsenta installed a new browser locally, and each application ran in a new browser window, making your laptop look possessed. and the feedback we received was almost identical: "I don't trust this." "I want to understand what it's doing." "Can I pause it?" we were building a black box. and we learnt the hard way that nobody wants a black box touching their job applications. so over thanksgiving, Pulkit and I made a hard call. we threw away months of work and rewrote the entire flow from scratch that took us over 150 hours. two weeks later, we interviewed at Y Combinator. we got in. and the version we showed them was the one where you can watch every application happen live, pause it, edit it, control it. turns out in a space where someone's career is on the line, trust isn't a feature. it's the entire product. if you're still filling out workday forms by hand, tsenta does it for you. live on your screen, nothing hidden. tsenta[.]com (screenshots of Tsenta before vs after, from when we were autojobs.me)
